I really miss my cats. They both died within two weeks of each other over a year ago. Those of you who are cat lovers, know what I miss about them, so I won’t take the time to try to convince you cat despisers, otherwise.
But…one picture IS worth a thousand words.

Look at that face! Still not convinced? Then…

Come on…you know she’s cute!
Okay, I digress. Added to what I miss about my cats is the fact that they were great mousers!

Since my two furry felines have been gone, I’ve had my share of mouse mishaps and run-ins. From destroying sentimental handmade Christmas stockings, stashing kernels of popcorn underneath my rec-room sofa, to eating and decimating my stash of Hershey’s dark chocolate kisses! Yes! Those purpley wrapped chocolate morsels meant for human consumption only! Those!
Look closely at the photo below. The icky mouse droppings ARE there!

And what about her? Some mouse deterrent! Yea, you better hide!

Or him??? Does he look like he’ll be going after the mice partying in my closet, anytime soon?

Dream on!

What about you? Have you had critter squatters? How have you dealt with them? Cat? Mouse trap? Box held up with stick and tied to a string? You think I’m kidding about that last one, don’t you?
I always love hearing from you!
My cat died last year too & I miss her so much!! She was my baby! When I saw the picture of your cat Jean, it was like looking at my cat! They’re identical!! 😀 I don’t know if I can send a picture on here or not to show you.
Hi Geena, I would love to see a pic of your cat! If you can figure out how to do it. I’m not sure I’ve ever tried. You could also post a photo of him on my Facebook page. Here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/DarcyFlynnAuthor
Jean Lafitte was a Seal Point Birman. Is that what yours was?
Hi Darcy! Great, I’ll post on your fb. I believe she was simese (sp).
I’m going over there to check it out! ❤😻
We had rats in our attic a few years ago. Disgusting! We don’t have a cat, so we had to get rid of them the old fashioned way with traps. bleh.
During that time, our dog let us know about the rats. He even destroyed a small shrub to unearth a nest of baby rats. He has really good rat-radar. Right now, we know some are frequenting our garden.
I feel for you. Maybe you should cat-sit for someone. Or, foster a good mouser for a few weeks.
Cat sit! Not that’s an idea!
Good for your dog. Mine do dig up moles in our fields but not so interested in “house” mice. I guess there’s just not enough dirt to dig in! 🙂
We’ve never had mice but when the City started recycling food leftovers, rats from the nearby creek/park started coming into our backyard where the trash cans were stored. Grossed me out! Hubby set traps and we quit recycling that stuff.
But, I love cats. My hubby hates them. So, I haven’t had one in a while. Yours were adorable.
A few years ago we had rats living underneath our chicken house! I could tell you stories that would curl your hair! Like the time I was out there and I picked up a bale of straw and about 50 baby rats fell to the floor. Talk about freaking out! Lol!
I am a cat lover too. We have one house cat who’s not loving our two new puppies much. We also started with one wild cat that had kittens and now we have quite a few more. We get to see new kittens every summer. If I didn’t have my house cat, I’d probably bring one or two in.
Kittens! They’re the best! It would be nice to see new ones every summer.
